The Home Town Association’s 4th Annual Scarecrow Contest application will open online on September 1, 2026!
The contest is free and open to individuals, families, businesses, civic organizations, and church groups of all ages. A total of 25 traditional-style lamp posts along Dearborn Street, through Flopeye and Downtown Great Falls, will be available for scarecrow displays.
Important dates:
Applications open: September 1
Installations may begin: September 15
Application deadline: September 30, or when all lamp posts have been assigned
Scarecrows must be installed by: October 1
People’s Choice voting: October 1–24
Winners announced: Saturday, October 24
Scarecrows must be removed by: November 1
Approved applicants will receive detailed installation instructions, judging criteria, and their assigned lamp post.
Three out-of-town judges will select the first- and second-place winners. The community may also vote online for the People’s Choice Award. Anyone with access to the voting link may cast a vote for their favorite scarecrow.
