Accessibility Statement

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) (opens in new tab) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Town of Great Falls website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are actively working to resolve any remaining issues.

The Town of Great Falls takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website:

• Include accessibility as part of our mission and internal policies
• Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods, including automated and manual testing
• Ensure sufficient color contrast ratios meet WCAG 2.2 AA requirements (4.5:1 minimum for normal text)
• Provide keyboard-navigable interfaces with visible focus indicators
• Support screen readers with proper ARIA attributes, labels, and semantic HTML
• Respect user preferences for reduced motion and high contrast
• Provide skip-navigation links for keyboard users

Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. The following areas are known to have limitations, and we are actively working to improve them:

• Third-party content: Some embedded maps, payment portals, and external services may not fully conform to WCAG 2.2 AA standards
